Children / Youth
As Christian's, we must speak out and stand up for our beliefs:
After church service on the eve of Christmas 2006, our family went to Ruby's Diner here in Fullerton, Calif. As our youngest daughter was working on a "word search" on the back of the child's menu, she asked my wife, "Is this what I think it say's?" My wife looked at the word and in fact it was the word, "devil." The word search was for a gorilla's (Koko) favorite words. I immediately contacted management and they apologized but told me there was nothing they could do and that I should contact their corporate headquarters. After we arrived home, I went to Ruby's web-site and in the "comments" section, I briefly explained what we had found, our Christian beliefs, and asked them to immediately remove all of the children's menu's from all of their restaurants.
Several days later, I received a call from one of Ruby's Director's of Operations. He was genuinely apologetic and told me that it was an oversight on their behalf. During the ensuing conversation, he told me that the company would be removing the children's menu's and replacing them but that it would take a few weeks to get new ones reprinted and distributed. Together we jested that we have a hard enough time fighting off the enemy, let alone having our children look for him. Though he wasn't forthright, we knew that God was working within him and the others in the company.
Imagine that if an 11 year old girl can speak out and cause change to a corporation such as Ruby's Diner; not to mention the thousands of children who have already been affected after seeing this or the many more thousands who would have been affected had she not spoken up, then imagine how you can speak up and cause change to the very same types of things you see everyday that go against God's kingdom here on earth.

Dearest Veronica,
I would like to thank you for what you did for me and my children, bringing us food. I really appreciate it and so do my children. It was really nice of you to think of others. It is hard to come across good hearted individuals like you. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Cassandra & Kids (Helga's Grandchildren)
